General Practitioner (GP)

 

Location: Geraldton

 

GRAMS are an established Aboriginal community controlled health service serving people living in and around Geraldton and the Murchison. It provides a supportive employment environment that values and encourages initiative and an outcome-based focus on improving Aboriginal health. GRAMS foster close links with major providers of health services in the Aboriginal communities throughout the Midwest and Murchison regions.

Summary Job role:

  • Full-time GP role and reporting to SMO and responsible for delivering quality comprehensive primary care, emergency and related health services and programs to GRAMS clientele.
  • Work within GP scope of works; medical-legal compliances and medical legislative requirements.
  • GP Medicare billings and ensure compliance to ethical and Medicare rules; Drive Medicare income targets with GPs and Nurse Practitioners.
  • Implement relevant objectives of GRAMS by ensuring that the clinical services deliver a supportive, quality, effective and efficient service in order that the health needs of clients and the community are met.

 

 

To be successful you will need to meet the following essential and desirable requirements.

ESSENTIAL: General skills, experience and knowledge

  • Must be FRACGP or ACRRM
  • Must have current AHPRA registration
  • Possess the equivalent of five years postgraduate medical experience.
  • Demonstrated clinical and procedural experience.
  • Demonstrated highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • A demonstrated capacity to work effectively and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of family medicine, primary health care and preventative health care practice.
  • Commitment to teaching medical students and GP registrars.

DESIRABLE

  • Knowledge and experience of Aboriginal culture, health care and related issues in the Geraldton, Midwest and Murchison regions.
  • Experience working with Communicare
