The coronavirus (COVID19) pandemic has had a significant health and financial impact on a national, state and local level. The GRAMS team has recognised that many members of our community are experiencing heightened hardships during this time and may require additional support.
As such, GRAMS has been working hard to prepare COVID-19 care packages for those most in need.
The care packages are funded by a BHP Vital Resources community grant awarded to the Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia (AHCWA).
Each care pack includes shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste and quality towels and other essential hygiene items. GRAMS has also coordinated food relief packages which include canned food, life-long milk, sugar and flour thanks to an additional grant from BHP.
The care packages will be distributed to families in need and vulnerable community groups.
GRAMS CEO Deborah Woods said the initiative will provide a helping hand to individuals and families who are doing it tough.
“We understand it’s a challenging time and we hope the care packages will provide some relief to vulnerable families.” she said.
“It is important that we stay resilient and come together to overcome the challenges of the COVID19 crisis”
“GRAMS is proud to support our communities during these tough times. We stand by ready to help community members whenever and wherever possible.”
