The Geraldton Tackling Indigenous Smoking (TIS) team has teamed up with Sky Box Studio to deliver a four-week boxing program for the Deadly Sista Girlz from Champion Bay Senior High School.
Tackling Indigenous Smoking Education Carmel Narrier coordinated the weekly sessions where the teen girls learn the foundations and core principles of boxing. It has been great to see the girls learning a new healthy skill while building relationships with new mentors.
The Deadly Sista Girlz is a culturally appropriate healthy lifestyle program that aims to improve engagement and education amongst school-aged Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls.
